British comedian Ben Elton is bringing his new stand-up show to New Zealand.
Elton will hit Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch in May, touring his comeback show Ben Elton Live.
He last performed stand-up in New Zealand 14 years ago but has now returned to the stage, having recently completed a sell-out 75-date UK tour.
“The last time I toured I was still smarter than my phone,” Elton said.
“Things have definitely taken a funny turn.”
In a career spanning more than three decades, Elton has achieved success as a stand-up comic, author, playwright, actor and director.
He is best known for writing television shows such as The Young Ones and Blackadder, as well as the smash hit West End musical We Will Rock You.
Tickets for all shows go on sale at 1pm on March 3, with a Vodafone presale from 11am on February 28 until 11am on March 2.
